Fox & Dagger Publishing: Our Core Values

In the uncertain climate of the small dark fiction press community, it's hard to know where to turn for a positive publisher relationship.

Writing fiction is the love of my life.

But offering publishing opportunities to other indie authors fills my cup. Let's talk for a minute about values in the small dark fiction press community, because there's been some chaos lately.

With a background in indie publishing with Dark Village Publications, experience as an author who's signed with a small press, and as an award-nominated active working writer, both on my own projects and as work-for-hire with a media company, I understand the small press world from many angles.

I know what your book means to you. And I understand how much work goes into creating a marketable book: developmental edits, rewrites, copyediting, cover design, launch platforms, promotions, author branding... it can be overwhelming. Let us help you navigate.

At Fox & Dagger, our values are based on a positive publisher-author relationship.

✨ Respect: I value the writing community and how hard we all work. There's space for all of us, but there's no space for gossip, drama, or shady BTS actions.

✨ Collaboration: Your book is your book. We will work together to review, revise, and strengthen it so it shines as brightly as possible.

✨ Communication: We won't leave you in the dark on big decisions, or where we are in the process. We respond quickly and clearly and stand by what we say.

✨ Reader Experience: Creating a book with the POV of your target audience in mind is the path to success. Success for sales, yes, but also a positive reading experience for your reader. We're always looking for the small touches that make your book special and memorable, so readers in turn become our advocates with reviews and recs to others.

If these values align with yours, consider submitting your manuscript on our website today. 🖤
